32 Borough of Barnsley swimmers have competed at the prestigious Yorkshire Swim Association's 2022 Winter Meets throughout October. Achieving a record number of personal best times the squad secured 4 Yorkshire Champions through Alexander Matze aged 10 (50m Breaststroke) and Harry Tupman aged 12 (50m Freestyle, 50m Butterfly and 50m Breaststroke)
Alexander narrowly missed gold but won silver in the 50m Breaststroke. Bronze medals were also won by Louie Ennis 14 in the 50m freestyle and Harry Tupman in the 100m freestyle. Club Spokesman Adrian Wightman said "Once again our swimmers have shown great grit and determination to succeed. it's brilliant to say we have 3 Yorkshire Champions in the club as well as being able to celebrate the great personal bests achieved and many top 10 finishes" The swimmers, representing about 30% of the club members, competing were Keaton Hall, Charlotte Greaves, Dniel Riley, Olivia Byrne, Alexander Matze, Lacey Richardson, Lily Knowles, Freddie Cooke - South, Harry Austin, Poppy Pearson, Joshua Guy, Riley Sykes, Lucas Morton, Harry Tupman, Adam Gill, Oscar Lugton, Brooke Owen, Esme Hays, Oliver Austin, Purdy Roberts, Louie Ennis, Meredith Gregory, Olivia Oughton, Jake Roberts, Jared Almond, Cody Ingram, Millie Northrop, Myles Tupman, Georgia Lee, Kalum Smart, Jonathon Wightman &Roman Wallace
