The BOBSC swimmers were in action again at the weekend at Team Jorvik’s Spring Festival securing a haul of 85 medals in the one day 100m and 200m race meet/ A total of 52 swimmers from all the BOBSC Squads took part at the gala at Leeds John Charles Centre for Sport with coach Julie Rice and poolside helpers Penny Austin and Sharron Morton. The total medal haul across the A, B and C grades were 32 gold, 29 silver and 24 bronze, an outstanding achievement There were some massive improvements on personal best / entry times with some swimmers achieving improvements of up to 10 second and some with even higher times. Press Officer Adrian Wightman said “Yet again the our swimmers demonstrated how much they are improving and hungry to secure those top 3 places. It was great to see the swimmers putting 100% effort – well done everyone.” The squad host the first meet of the recently post-covid relaunch of the Barnsley Minors League next weekend where they hope to retain their place in the first division for a second season.
